	[source:Henniker Historical Society Obituary File] JOHN H MATHEWS DIES SUDDENLY IN ROCHESTER Special to the Union ROCHESTER, Dec 30 [1931] - John H. Mathews, was stricken with a heart attack on South Main street late this afternoon and died a few minutes later in [the] store to which he was carried for treatment. Medical Referee Forest L. Keay pronounced death due to natural causes. Mr. Mathews was a native of Henniker, the son of Joseph and Adeline Adams Mathews. Survivors include the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Ames, a son Charles Mathews, both of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sawyer of North Ware, Mrs. ernest Day of Manchester; a brother Willard E Mathews of Henniker. Mr Mathews was taken ill about a year ago and had been in poor health since that time.
