Julia E., (Bean) wife of Norman Matthews, died Friday Evening, April 13 about 8:30 o'clock after a long illness, aged 44 years. She is survived by a husband and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lewis of Deerfield, Mrs. Hannah Taylor of Bristol, Mrs. Fanny Sherburn of Haverill, Mass., and one brother, John Bean, of Manchester; also one son, Henry G. Matthews. Deceased was the daughter of Rufus Bean of Deerfield. Funeral services were held at the late home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. F. A. Balcom officiating. The remains were deposited in the tomb at the new cemetery.

Listed in Henniker Census in 1908 under Norman Matthews. Lists him working as a shoe shop operative in Brockton - does this mean he worked in a shoe store OR was it a factory? Also - did he stay in Brockton?

Note that his wife's father was a mason (according to census records)- I wonder if he erected the marker for Charles' uncle - Joseph H. Matthews?
